Learn more about the artist - Matt Lloyd
My story
My name is Matt Lloyd, I'm an internationally selling artist based in Birmingham, UK, specializing in pet portraits and wildlife art. Over the past 10 years I have been creating lasting memories of your beloved pets and have work hanging on walls all over the world.
Born in 1975, I've had a passion for drawing and painting from an early age—something even my primary school report noted, praising my artwork while reminding me to stay focused in class!
I enlisted in the Royal Navy in 1992, and while the work was often demanding, I always made time to draw and paint —even at one point needing to paint in the cupboard under the stairs.
Since Leaving the Armed Forces it has provided me with the opportunity to focus on my passion for art.
Meet Chester - Shih Tzu
Chester (white and old) is 11 year old and is very regal, not fond of the rain or generally getting wet. As he is a little bit older he loves cuddling up next to me when I am in the studio at my drawing desk. Chester was the subject for the first ever pet portrait and since then I havent stopped creating.
Meet Ozzy - Shih Tzu
Ozzy (black and white) is 5 year old and couldn’t be more different to Chester. Ozzy was a lockdown dog so although he is a real live wire and always up to something it takes him a while to settle with new people. Ozzy has also been the subject of some drawings, however as with a lot of our pets, trying to keep him still to take a picture can be challenging lol
One of my greatest achievements to date was being requested to design the new logo for the Weimaraner Club of Great Britain.
Over a number of years I have been a keen supporter of Birmingham Dogs Home You will see me at a number of events and through my art sales I have been fortunate enough to be able to donate to the charity.
Thank you very much for looking at my website and a big thank you to all my customers who have supported me as an artist, my business and my dream.
